Here about 100 photos, showing the trip in a super short summary, just for you to enjoy.
There are a few videos on the "Videos" tab which you should not miss....

The trip in the big picture

We took off from Pretoria, just north of Johannesburg, and flew counterclockwise to Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Botswana

All the equipment, charts, back up GPS, back up radio, batteries, "Travel John", etc...

Before taking off, we needed lots of water and some dry food in case of emergency

An old DC3 at the Wonderboom (Pretoria) airfield

This is the airplane used for the practical test flight to get the South African pilot license

We have finally left Wonderboom, and fly East towards Kroger park, and Barbeton, for the "Bush Pilot" training course

On the way to Barbeton, plantations...

.... and housing

The Graskop runway, on the top of a hill

Barbeton airfield, the home of C.C. Pocock, our Bish pilot trainer. The house is at the bottom left part of the photo, hidden in the vegetation

This is the Cessna 182 we used during the whole flight, except for the Bush Pilot course for which we used a Green Cessna 172

Very modern and safe environment to fly

The unmanned Barbeton tower (used only for airshows)

CC and his german girl friend Tina

Feeding the C172 with food for the flight

Ready for take off

A very spartan interior....

Interested to follow the course, call the number above.

On the way from Kruger to Mozambique

passing north of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique (ex Lorenco marques)

And flying north along the coast

at low level......

luckily the waves are not too high

Mozambique entry airport, with paper work awaiting us.... (stamps, forms, taxes)

approaching our destination for a couple of days of sun and beaches

Around Bazaruto

The view from the bungalow room

and the view out to the sea

flamingos

and the crowded beaches reminding us of the Cote d Azur in August...

the lodge seen from the sea, at low tide

time for a pre dinner drink at sun set

Ready to leave to Malawi, always some helpful kids around, smiling

on the way north, a small island with a private airfield

flying north towards Beira, Mozambique

The crew...

Beira in the background

the dashboard of our C182, ZS IAE. Noye the small device with red/blue/green buttons, our "Spidertack", who registered our route as we moved along, and allowed to prepare the chart at the beginning of this slide show.
A main GPS was built in, and we took another portable one from home, lying besides the Spidertrack, as back up

Following the Zambesi river

A small village on the way

Arriving in MAlawi
